Introducing Nékojita FuFu: The Quirky Robot from Yukai Engineering

At CES 2025, Yukai Engineering is turning heads with its latest line-up of quirky animal robots, including the delightful Nékojita FuFu. This charming little cat-like robot attaches to the side of a mug or bowl, providing a gentle breeze to cool your hot beverages or soups. Based in Tokyo, the company has ingeniously combined a fan with a “special algorithm” — dubbed the “Fuing System” — to mimic the way people blow on hot food, using randomized strengths and intervals.

  • Name Origin: “FuFu” represents the sound we make when cooling food by blowing on it.
  • Neko-jita: Translates to “cat tongue,” a nod to those sensitive to hot foods — a trait reportedly shared by half of Japan’s population.

“Nékojita FuFu was born out of Yukai Engineering’s 2024 internal Make-a-Thon,” the company notes. A team leader recalled his struggles with cooling freshly cooked baby food for his son, which often left him breathless and dizzy.”

Nékojita FuFu isn’t Yukai’s first playful creation; it’s joined by Murami, the fuzzy little purse goblin also unveiled at CES this week. Both products are results of an innovative hack-a-thon within the company, aimed at solving everyday challenges with creativity and humor.

The robot is expected to hit Japanese markets by mid-2025 and will retail for approximately $25. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or someone who finds hot foods daunting, Nékojita FuFu might just be the whimsical solution you’ve been waiting for.
