Panasonic Introduces Umi: The Family-Focused AI Wellness Coach

At the bustling CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Panasonic captivated attendees with the unveiling of Umi, a digital assistant set to revolutionize family wellness. Designed in collaboration with Anthropic, Umi leverages the advanced Claude AI model to act as a personalized wellness coach, aiming to help families care for, coordinate, and connect with one another.

Umi isn’t just any AI assistant; it is crafted specifically to assist families in setting and achieving meaningful goals. Whether it’s spending more quality time together or getting more active, Umi’s interactive interface makes these aspirations achievable. Through voice chats and a mobile app, families can engage in group conversations with Umi, establish routines, manage tasks, and much more.

“Panasonic’s partnership with AARP enables caregivers to stay updated on their aging parents’ well-being remotely,” the company emphasized.

Scheduled for a 2025 launch in the U.S., Umi will be more than just an AI coach. It will integrate with a community of experts dedicated to fostering healthy habits and wellness routines among families. Panasonic’s collaboration extends to wellness-focused partners like Aaptiv, Precision Nutrition, SleepScore Labs, Addition Wealth, Blue Apron, Calm, and others. These brands form part of Panasonic Well’s Partner Collective and will align their efforts with Umi and other future initiatives.

Additionally, the Anthropic-Panasonic partnership means that Claude AI will not only enhance consumer products but also become a strategic asset within Panasonic’s workforce. The integration aims to boost performance in customer service, sales, marketing, and coding.

With Umi on the horizon, Panasonic is poised to bring families closer together through innovative technology that prioritizes connection and wellness.
