Exploring AI’s Potential in Enterprise Search

As companies continue to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be harnessed to enhance employee productivity, search capabilities emerge as a clear opportunity. In many organizations, data is scattered across numerous disconnected silos. However, with the advent of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and enterprise-grade integration services, it’s now simpler than ever to not only enable effective search but also develop tools that address more intricate data inquiries.

It’s no wonder that both startups and established players, such as Atlassian’s Rovo, are competing in this domain. Among the latest entrants is Doti AI, a Tel Aviv-based startup which recently secured $7 million in seed funding. Doti AI seamlessly integrates data from platforms like Confluence, Datadog, GitLab, Jira, Monday.com, Notion, Slack, Salesforce, Zendesk, and more. This data becomes accessible on-demand through a chat interface in Slack or via their innovative ‘AutoPilot.’

The AutoPilot Advantage

Doti’s AutoPilot is designed to proactively monitor Slack channels and respond directly when it identifies answerable questions within those channels. As co-founders Matan Cohen (CEO) and Opher Hofshi (CPO) explained, this approach allows Doti to rapidly achieve critical mass within a company. Employees become familiar with Doti through various Slack channels and gradually engage in one-on-one interactions with the service.

The Journey of Innovation

Cohen and Hofshi’s journey began during their tenure at Wix. Cohen focused on infrastructure while Hofshi led security architect teams. “When we left Wix [in 2023], we didn’t really know what we were going to do,” Hofshi shared. Initially, they contemplated continuing in their respective fields—cybersecurity for Hofshi and infrastructure for Cohen. However, they soon recognized that enterprise search was an unresolved challenge.

“The problem Doti solves is something we felt keenly at Wix,” Cohen noted.

The solution requires expertise in integration development coupled with a strong focus on security. “What we believe is that every person, every group, every process, every company will need to have some sort of AI in their veins—or their processes—and it’s not a matter of if but when,” Cohen asserted.

Doti’s Unique Approach

While other companies may offer similar features at first glance, Doti’s approach provides remarkable flexibility. Built from the ground up, it allows businesses to integrate their own large language models while setting customized security protocols.

“We know how to bring a very good solution for enterprises and we’re as flexible as they want,” Cohen emphasized.

  • You want to bring your own LLM? Go for it.
  • You want to use your own cloud? We can do this.
  • Whether it’s AWS, Azure, or GCP—it’s all possible on the infra level.

This degree of customization can be pivotal for organizations seeking tailored solutions. The $7 million seed round was led by F2 Venture Capital with contributions from notable angel investors like Jared Kasner of Ineffable Ventures and Guy Flechter of Sola Security.
