Bird Buddy’s Innovative Expansion into the Insect Kingdom
Bird Buddy has successfully combined various consumer technologies to create smart bird feeders that have captured the public’s imagination. By integrating advancements in security cameras, AI, and solar charging, they have crafted a remarkable product. At CES 2025, Bird Buddy unveiled an exciting new venture into the world of insects with their sub-brand, Wonder. This expansion introduces a touch of their magic to pollinators such as butterflies and bees.
This year, Wonder is launching with two innovative products: Petal and Wonder Blocks. Petal functions similarly to existing Bird Buddy products but focuses on insects. It’s like a trail camera specifically designed for capturing insects in action. As Wonder explains, “Petal seamlessly merges cutting-edge engineering and technology to snap and live stream wildlife direct to your smartphone or smart device of choice.”

The name ‘Petal’ is inspired by its flower-like appearance, with a solar panel acting as a leaf. Its flexible stem can be staked in the ground or wrapped around a tree branch.
Wonder Blocks offer “a modular set for building vibrant, biodiverse natural worlds.” Essentially, it’s a cylindrical system containing features like a plant pot, seed tray, butterfly feeder, and bee and bug “hotels.” The Petal can be mounted on top.
