In a recent development, Meta has announced plans to streamline its workforce by approximately 5% through performance-based terminations, as reported by Bloomberg. This decision comes from a strategic shift in the company’s approach to human resources, with CEO Mark Zuckerberg detailing the plan in an internal memo to staff.

According to Zuckerberg, the move is part of an effort to enhance performance management by swiftly addressing low performance. Traditionally, Meta has taken a year-long approach to managing employees who fall short of expectations. However, this cycle will see more rigorous performance-based evaluations and subsequent actions.
